Under the distinguished honorary patronage of Her Excellency Mrs Glenda Morean Phillip SC,former High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago to London, now Ambassador for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the United States of America and Mexico and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States, delegates will be selected during the month of June.

The finals and cultural show will be held at The Bloomsbury Theatre, London on Saturday 20 September 2008.

The night’s proceedings will showcase the incredible and wonderfully diverse culture of the beautiful Caribbean twin island nation of Trinidad & Tobago, often referred to as the “Land of the Hummingbird” and home of the Carnival and steelpan. In addition, it will be the final night of the selection process to select a UK based Trinbagonian beauty to be a cultural ambassador representing Trinidad & Tobago in the UK, which may also result in international appearances.

Successful applicants will embark on a journey of self-discovery and intellectual development as they participate in holistic workshops and various guest appearances. The workshops comprise of dance movement and exercise, deportment, make-up, hair & beauty, protocol and etiquette, public speaking, modelling and choreography training, courtesy of Carivog International UK. These workshops aim to strengthen participants’ ability to cope with life’s challenges and facilitate their growth into mature women. What they learn and develop as part of the workshops is something that will see them through for the rest of their lives and to hopefully enable them to achieve their full potential as young women and role models of the future.

Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK

The Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK Pageant is organised and managed by Ms Angela Cox, Managing Director of Carivog International UK Division, Ms Sheanna Alleyne and Mrs Valerie Noriega both based in Trinidad and a supporting experienced administrative team.

The Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK pageant started in September 2003 and has been held annually since. In previous years, it has generated a lot of interest, attracting thousands of nationals from Trinidad & Tobago, other Caribbean islands and the UK, through the website’s online voting competition, Miss Website Queen.

In 2004, as the result of an anonymous nomination, Angela Cox was presented with lifetime membership of the Millennium Award Fellowship which was presented to her at a ceremony at the Mayor of London’s offices.

It was a great day where she met other award winners from London and through out the United Kingdom. The Fellowship is an acknowledgement of the personal commitment and achievement of a select group of talented individuals through out the United Kingdom who have played a role in strengthening and enriching their communities. With the support of its members, the Fellowship is a national platform to promote the power of the individual to make a difference and to bring about positive social change. Ms Cox is also a qualified therapeutic counsellor.
